KTVK-NewsChannel 3 and KASW WB 6 are accepting applications for the position of Financial Accountant/Analyst.
QUALIFICATIONS
College degree with emphasis in accounting or financial preferred. Minimum 2-5 years relevant professional experience. Broadcasting experience preferred but not required. Ability to think strategically and to assist in developing appropriate approaches to problems and opportunities. Strong comfort level with Excel and the analytical capacity to extract, understand and evaluate data. PeopleSoft experience preferred but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for interaction with all levels of the organization.
DUTIES
Monthly closing process through activities such as creating and posting journal entries to accounts, account reconciliations, preparation of various reports needed to produce the monthly financial statements, and analysis of actual results compared to plan and prior year.
Monthly forecast process through preparation of various reports and schedules, coordination of information with the department heads, and analysis of forecast compared to various benchmarks. Cross-train on all accounting functions and tasks performed by the Controller and Business Manager in order to provide back up and continuity of accounting operations. Coordinate and participate in various special projects and analysis. Work closely with other departments to identify and resolve various accounting and financial issues on a pro-active basis. Support and customer service to the departments are key requirements, as is the ability to interact positively and productively with fellow employees. Other duties as assigned by management.
