EXAMPLES OF DUTIES PERFORMED

1. Supervise the organizing, writing and editing of assigned newscasts. Directly participate in the management of the newscasts as they air from the control room.

2. Write all news copy not supplied by anchors, writers or reporters [as needed].

3. Initiate and participate in the formulation of processes and the innovation of newscast formats or systems in the newsroom that support the assigned newscasts.

4. Perform other duties as needed and directed by the News Director.

REQUIREMENTS

1. EDUCATION: College Diploma or equivalent experience required.

2. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years prior newscast production experience required.

3. EQUIPMENT: Must be able to master newsroom equipment within a 90-day period.

4. LICENSE: Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability

5. SKILLS: Must be a creative, yet factually accurate writer, possess excellent communication skills and be able to work under deadline pressures. Flexible hours and some travel are required.
