Guerilla Video Journalist for On-Street Interviews
We're a New York-based market research firm. We conduct on-street "real people" interviews (in video) across North America and Europe for a variety of corporate and non-profit clients. We''re a growing company and are looking for additional video journalists throughout the USA in the metro areas. If interested in this work we encourage you to apply as we often have requests for shoots all over the USA.
Job Description: Shoot on-street market research interviews as a one-person band with your own 3-chip DV camera and external mic. Journalism and interviewing experience a big plus, as are technical skills, reliability and a willingness to approach almost anyone with zero fear of rejection. Beware, this job is really NOT for everyone, but for extroverted, thick-skinned guerilla video journalists. Candidates must have their own equipment (we often need shoots that very day) and have a cell phone. Payment is per interview and averages $35-$65 and more per hour for guerillas with the right skills and chutzpah. Women are particularly encouraged to respond, as many interview assignments focus on women. Also, we often get requests for specific ethnic demographics. If you have a familiarity or affinity for a particular ethnicity please indicate this when you apply.
Please apply to nycfolktv@yahoo.com, include a few sentences about yourself; who you are and what you are trying to become, as well as your skills, journalism background, equipment and reasons for interest in this position. Include your resume within the body of the email, no attachments are opened.
We''re really quite fun to work for, and we're looking for fun, easy-going video journalists to work with. We look forward to hearing from you!
