In this interview Andrew talks with us about a few key products & features that were being showcased at IBC 2015, such as Teradek Cube 600, Teradek LOKR, Teradek COLR & the new Teradek Bolt Sidekick.

The Cube 600 series is the latest addition to the Teradek family of encoders. The new Cube 605 and 655 builds upon the success of its predecessors and features several significant upgrades including a new dedicated embedded network processor that supports GigE for higher bitrates, enhanced 802.11ac Wi-Fi for longer range, dual HDMI/3G-SDI inputs, and built-in bonding with ShareLink™. This new addition to the Cube line aims to provide the next generation of versatile encoding for independent content creators and professionals alike.

Cube provides ultimate portability by distributing live HD video to iPads and iPhones for producers, clients, and others on set. Supporting up to 5 iOS and/or Android devices, users can view the feed at an increased range with Cube 655’s robust 802.11ac Wi-Fi. In addition to local playback, the new Cube 600 series integrates Frame.io’s cloud-based review and dailies workflow, ultimately enabling collaboration with creative teams anywhere around the world.

Building off of the success of Bolt’s wireless video and color management integration, Teradek has expanded the Connected Set ecosystem with LOKR, COLR, and the new Cube 600 series. The Connected Set wirelessly synchronizes all Teradek devices for one seamless experience. Real-time wireless support from the industry standard Pomfort LiveGrade allows accuracy and creative freedom with LUTs, while retaining the flexibility of shooting in RAW or LOG. Automatic proxy recording triggered by camera flags offers live monitoring and instant review on iPads,which simplifies and accelerates collaboration. Seamless uploading to a cloud based platform like Frame.io extends the creative process to teams off site. To launch this workflow, Teradek is announcing these exciting new products:

LOKR is a turn-key digital media hub for all Connected Set devices. LOKR streamlines CDL and 3D LUT color management by natively integrating Pomfort LiveGrade and automatically records proxies stored locally on removable SSDs. It also offers CRC copying over USB2/3 and synchronizes assets to the cloud using Frame.io. Ingest video wirelessly or over 3G-SDI, HDMI or Bolt’s USB 3.0 GRAB engine. This enables monitoring from SDI/HDMI outputs or streamed to iPads. Designed for on-set environments, LOKR has two hot swappable cine battery mounts and an optional enterprise level 802.11ac Wi-Fi access point built-in.

COLR is a new revolutionary device that combines an up/down/cross converter, a LUT box, and then some. “Real-time color correction” is enabled on dual HDMI or 3G-SDI I/Os, with wireless control from LOKR or directly from Pomfort LiveGrade, and supports 33 point LUTs, CDLs, and ACES inputs.

Bolt Sidekick is a lightweight, short range companion receiver to all Teradek Bolt Pro transmission systems. At only 9oz, Bolt Sidekick is the ideal solution for 1st AC’s and Director’s handheld monitors since it will work with any existing Bolt Pro up to 300 feet from the transmitter without affecting its performance. Available in HDMI or 3G-SDI flavors, the Sidekick receiver is the perfect companion for existing systems.
