About
An interview from the 2015 Cine Gear LA Expo at Paramount Studios with Tom Jacob of Kino Flo Lighting Systems. Kino Flo is a manufacturer and designer of fluorescent lighting equipment for film, video, TV broadcast and digital imaging productions. In this interview Tom showcases the latest updates to the Celeb 400Q LED & 4ft 4Bank Lighting System.
The Celeb 400Q DMX LED is one of the largest LED soft lights available in the market today measuring 30” x 26” (76cm x 66cm). The Celeb produces a soft, broad wraparound light quality (PRI 95) and produces color faithfully, beautifully on HD or film, in the studio or on location. The Celeb boasts technical innovations: dial-in white light from 2700 to 5500 Kelvin and presets with programmable settings; full range dimming without flicker or color shift. Light levels do not change when selecting Kelvin settings. The Celeb 400Q DMX operates at universal input from 100VAC-240VAC. The slim profile fixture produces more lumens than a 1K tungsten soft light, yet uses only 1.8A (120VAC) compared to a tungsten softlight at 8.3A. The Celeb 400Q can also be powered by 24VDC battery.
Kino Flo’s award winning 4ft 4Bank portable lighting system is reintroduced with a new design. With new universal voltage from 100VAC to 240VAC, the 4Bank can be used anywhere in the world. The 4Bank is brighter than a 1,000W softlight, yet draws only 2.6A (120VAC), 50% less than the previous model. New features include new graphics, new color coded connectors and new power switches.
The lighter weight 4Bank ballast has the same classic features: individual light control, HO/Standard switching and the same high quality standards: flicker-free, instant-on, dead quiet operation. Color temperature doesn’t shift when light levels change. With its new and classic features, the popular 4Bank remains to be a favorite tool among lighting professionals in the studio or on location.
