In this interview Topher talks with us about a few updates to their Bolt Transmitter/Receivers & Cube Encoder/Decoders.

The Teradek Bolt is a zero delay (< 1ms) wireless video system that transmits uncompressed 1080p60, 4:2:2 video up to 2000ft over the unlicensed 5GHz band. All Bolt models are multicast capable up to 4 receivers, support timecode and metadata pass through, and include the USB 3.0 GRAB Engine.

The Bolt Pro 300 offers up to 300ft of zero latency wireless video, perfect for focus pullers and director’s monitors. The 300 model comes in HDMI, 3G-SDI, and dual I/O varieties and includes a new fan-less receiver design with internal antennas. Like all Bolt models, the 300 also includes the new USB 3.0 GRAB Engine. The Bolt Pro 600 offers all of the same great features of the 300 model, in addition to an OLED screen for quick RX pairing, manual frequency selection, external antennas, and a transmission range of up to 600ft line of sight. Bolt Pro 600 comes in HDMI, 3G-SDI, and dual I/O models. The Bolt Pro 2000 increases the line of sight range all the way up to 2000ft and also comes in HDMI, 3G-SDI and dual I/O models. The 2000 model includes every feature found on the Bolt Pro 600 and can be outfitted with high gain antennas for increased range and resiliency. Available as a free firmware upgrade, the new 3DC feature allows users to export any standard or custom LUT file types (dat, cube, 3dl, lut, m3d, mga) into Bolt systems for real time color correction. The color corrected output is supported on all of the Bolt’s video outputs: HDMI, HD-SDI, as well as uncompressed USB 3.0. Bolt receivers support modifying LUTs in real time over USB using the Bolt Manager Utility application, as well as saving up to 16 separate LUTs to the internal memory. Each LUT can be reloaded at any time using the receiver’s built in joystick and OLED screen.

The Teradek Cube is a compact H.264 encoder / decoder designed to stream live HD video directly to the Web, point to point over the Internet, and to iOS and Android devices. Cube allows up to 3 clients to view a live feed from your video source with a delay as low as 4 frames. For multi-camera shoots, turn your iOS or Android tablet into a multiview monitor with the free Teraview application. Teraview lets you view and record up to 4 separate live video feeds from Teradek Cube or Clip encoders. The latest Cube update, introduces a new firmware for RED cameras, that lets you control the camera without needing any other wireless modules for the RED.

The Teradek Panel Antenna Array is a 5GHz MIMO panel antenna designed for use with Beam, Bolt 600 and Bolt 2000 receivers. The Array offers a more resilient wireless transmission, especially in challenging RF conditions, but it will not increase range.
