About
An interview from the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with Filmmaker Daniel Myrick. Daniel Myrick is multifaceted filmmaker who acts as writer, editor, and is most notably known as the director of “The Blair Witch Project”. Myrick is currently amidst post-production on “Under the Bed,” a new horror film produced in conjunction with Radar Pictures and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions. During his NAB keynote, Myrick discussed how film editors can blend traditional filmmaking with modern aesthetics and state-of-the-art post-production techniques. In this interview we talk with Dan about his current projects, the Blackmagic Design tools and why he favors to implement them into his workflow.
For Dan's latest film, "Under the Bed", he chose to shoot the film entirely in raw with Blackmagic Design’s Pocket Cinema Camera and DaVinci Resolve to complete both editing and color correction not only during post production, but also on set to ingest raw footage to complete the assembly edits and the first grades of footage.
