About

Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Tolani is slang that means “Too Good” in South African. Summed up, the experience of dining here is “smooth eclectic,” a blend of various inspirations and traditions – ranging from The Middle East, West Indies, the Mediterranean, the coast of Spain, to the southernmost tip of Africa.

Founded by Stanton DuToit (who hails from South Africa) Tolani features a wide variety of small-to-medium sized plates that are “meant to be shared.” Tolani’s star Exec Chef is Cesare de Chellis (“Chez”). A New Jersey-native, Chez’s love of food was born out of experiences with his father, whom he bonded with over the craft during summer trips to Italy. These trips ignited a passion within Chez to create unparalleled dishes for others to enjoy. All of Tolani's dynamic dishes are accompanied by a wide selection of wines – born and bottled all over the world.
