About
An interview from the 2014 Content & Communications World Expo in New York City with Jeff Barnes of EditShare. EditShare is the technology pioneer in networked shared storage and tapeless, end-to-end workflow solutions for the post-production, TV and film industries. In this interview Jeff talks with us about EditShare XStream EFS.
EditShare XStream EFS is a powerful distributed scale-out file system developed for media intensive workflows. It’s designed from the ground up to support large-scale workgroups requiring high-bandwidth, high-volume media ingest, transcoding, online collaborative editing and multiplatform distribution of HD, 2k, 4k and beyond. An XStream EFS system can start as small as 128TB and scale up to many petabytes. Its slim and sleek form factor packs 16 x 3.5-inch enterprise drives into just one and a half (1.5) rack units of space to make the most use of precious data center real estate. Each XStream EFS system offers multiple layers of redundancy that can tolerate the failure of multiple drives, including the failure of an entire node.
