About

An interview from the 2014 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with Marc Hamaker of Autodesk. Autodesk is a world leader in 3D design software for entertainment, natural resources, manufacturing, engineering, construction, and civil infrastructure.

In this interview Marc talks with us about the latest & greatest from Autodesk Flame 2015, the latest version of its high-end visual effects and creative finishing system, and Smoke 2015, the latest version of its video editing software.

The new Flame 2015 is packed full of features that help artists work collaboratively with high-res material faster than ever before — even at 4K. Flame artists will be able to meet client 4K needs, without compromising the unmatched Flame creative experience. Included with Flame Premium is Flame Assist, a cost-effective, Mac-based solution provides facilities the post-production workflow tools assistants need to do time-consuming support tasks, including project setup, media management, advanced conform, archiving, and restore.

The new Smoke 2015 offers significant new creative tools and performance enhancements. Smoke 2015 for Mac-based studios now features 3D Tracker, a new Timeline FX workflow, added hardware support and optimization for the new Mac Pro running OS X Mavericks, along with better interoperability with Final Cut Pro X. Another significant announcement is Smoke 2015 will soon be available as a desktop subscription, so customers can access the software on a pay-as-you-go basis.
