About

This is an inspirational piece (Teaser) about the current USA Women's Middleweight Boxing Champion and multiple Golden Glove recipient, Tori Nelson, and her fight for sponsorship against the odds. She is a single mother of two children, holds three minimum paying jobs, and a devout Christian looking to raise enough money to box internationally.

In Trinidad, Tori won the International WBC Middleweight title belt in late July 2011 and then the WIBA World belt outside of Washington DC in February 2012. Tori defended these two belts and fought for her third (WBA) World title belt in October 2012 in Bermuda which ended in a draw.

Tori spars with Dara Shen of Reston VA and Franchon Crews of Baltimore, MD both 2012 US Women's Olympic boxing contenders.
