Beyond the gasps, applause, and limelight - behind the scenes at the circus - everything must run like clockwork. BREAKIRON Animation&Design took the same tack with high-end visual effects and 3D animation for the innovative Cirque De Créativité, the American Advertising Federation Raleigh-Durham Chapter 2012 ADDY® Awards Gala this spring. For a film intro, BREAKIRON created visual effects by matching video in real time via a new, fast, inexpensive process for 3D motion capture. To segue between awards, BREAKIRON forged 3D circus performers: fire breather, clown, elephant, juggler, magician. "They brought something different to the Addys that hadn't been seen [at a Gala] before," says Rachael Lancaster, ADDY Awards committee co-chair of logistics. Adds fellow co-chair Shay Foley, BREAKIRON "pushed themselves hard. They had a lot of power behind what they were doing. They did heavy lifting. Very solid work." AAF-RDU President Mike McTaggart also lauds BREAKIRON. "They were true partners, taking ownership in the quality of the final product. The Gala was spectacular, and the bar has been set higher than ever before for next year's show." Along with BREAKIRON, show credits go to local dynamos flying frog media, Center Sound, and Steven Grove.
