Ted Schilowitz, President of Red Digital Cinema, introduces Bettina Martin of 3ality Technica, who discusses the technical specifications as well as the real world production use of a new RED EPIC 3ality Technica 3D RIG introduced at IBC 2012. Built around the RED EPIC camera, the Helix 3D rig features a miro box that can be easily adjusted to work with a variety of camera lenses. 3D metadata is recorded directly to the RED EPIC for a useful reference during post-production. A Stereo Image Processor (SIP) also allows for a smooth transition from 2D to 3D when used in conjunction with the Helix 3D rig.
