About

Paul Atkinson, Product Specialist for Canon Europe, reviews the two newest cameras of the Canon Cinema EOS product line--the Canon C100 and the Canon C500. Optimized for single operator use, the Canon C100 includes features such as one-shot autofocus, push auto iris and a built-in microphone. A wide dynamic range is also possible to achieve with the C100 using the Log Gamma setting. At the top of the Cinema EOS line, the Canon C500 allows for either 4K or 2K raw output to an external recorder while simultaneously recording in HD to CF cards to optimize workflow and data storage. The EF Mount with Cinema Lock feature also provides the C500 with a unique mounting solution compared to the rest of the EOS line. The entire Canon Cinema EOS collection was introduced for the first time as a complete product line at IBC 2012.
