Les Zellan, Chairman of Cooke Optics, discusses how the increase in demand for less expensive PL mount lenses used in both film and video production has led to the company's focus on the expansion of their new /i metadata system, rather than the introduction of new camera lenses. The standardizing of communication between camera lens and camera promoted by the /i metadata system is shown here through a Transvideo monitor that displays all of the lens data controls clearly and precisely. Cooke Optics' /i metadata system was featured at IBC 2012.
