Nations Bravest: Firefighters Unite, Mr. Tampa Jeremy Finney of Tampa Fire Rescue talks about becoming a firefighter and how much he enjoys working and living in Tampa Bay, Florida. Jeremy talks about his volunteer work with Camp Hopetake (pronounced hope’ e’ tockee), a camp created to be a safe haven for children ages 5 through 17, who have to cope with the social and emotional scars of living with burn injuries. Camp Hopetake takes place at the DaySpring Conference Center in Manatee County, FL and is paid for by Tampa Firefighters and Paramedics IAFF 754, and is well supported by the staff of the Regional Burn Center at Tampa General Hospital. The camp’s counselors include firefighters as well as nurses, therapists and paramedics who strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for these young survivors.
