About

The piece You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby is a "MTV World Music Video Preimere" that became video installion shown at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee's Art's Technology Night. I created it my Junior year while studing Digital Studio Practice. The video was projected on a sculpture made up of three parallel panels side to side. Two televisons and pieces of plywood supported the panels. In the space there were balloons, confetti, party cups, and lights.
The video starts with MTV commercials, and an introduction to the music video. The audio track is a Fat Boy Slim song off the album You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby called “Praise You.” The music video consists of four figures dancing to the song with a montage of every video I created for Art 326 (Video & Audio Strategies) at UW-Milwaukee in the middle.
The piece was made to praise and celebration Video Art. It is also praise to my mentors who helped me find a medium I love to work in. It is a party for future work to come.
