Fashion Fantastico‘s inaugural event was held on May 14, 2011 with a crowd of excited patrons in attendance as artists showed their support for Arizona’s first foray into wearable art. The concept starts with the human body as the canvas, drawing from fashion and art to create a new expression. Artists are asked to go deep into their imagination to create a wearable piece of art that challenges what most consider wearable, or everyday fashion. Fashion Fantastico is committed to challenging artists of all mediums to push their imaginations to create evocative, imaginative and thought provoking sculpture for the human body.
Fashion Fantastico provides art students, aspiring and accomplished designers with a new and unique opportunity to showcase their talents through design, dance and expression. Thousands of cultural enthusiasts worldwide attend wearable art shows. These shows combine theater, art and fashion into one amazing extravaganza. A wearable art show takes art off the wall to adorn the human form, presenting a mesmerizing live performance that weaves art and fashion together with choreography.
