American Federation of Musicians - Local 4

About Us

We are Local 4 of the American Federation of Musicians. We represent the professional musician in Northern Ohio.

The musicians of the The Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Opera Orchestra, Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Cleveland Pops, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and Blossom Festival Band are members of Local 4.

The performers in the orchestra pits of Playhouse Square Foundation, The Cleveland Playhouse, Lyric Opera Cleveland and Great Lakes Theatre Festival are also members of the union.

Rockers Marc Avsec, Neil Geraldo and Joe Walsh are in, as are polka kings Joe Wendel and the Vadnal Brothers. Frankie Yankovic was a Life Member. Contemporary artist Jim Brickman is a Member of Local 4.

We represent String Quartets, All Occasion Bands, Bagpipers, Harpists and Jazz Combos, Swing Bands, Brass Ensembles, Composers, Arrangers and Cocktail Pianists.
