Western North Carolina Film Commission

About Us

As North Carolina emerges as a leading film location and production center, the Western North Carolina Film Commission, funded by the Western North Carolina Regional Economic Development Commission, is working to increase the film and video industry benefits to Western North Carolina. Filmmakers regard film offices as routine, and expect services when soliciting to choose an area as a filming location. The competition is intense, and the cost of shooting without a film commission is potentially so great that few would choose an area not represented by a film commission.
