About Us

For nearly five years, the greatest work from the world’s most creative up-and-coming filmmakers has been proudly showcased at the Miami Short Film Festival. These brief cinematic productions embody the true spirit of the creative film-making process. From original scripts, to different perspectives, to new cinematography and film techniques, each and every piece is the result of real, true emotion and expression. Today’s short films often represent the first steps of tomorrow’s world-renowned filmmakers.

In fact, many of today’s most recognized names in the moviemaking industry all got their starts in short films. Whether it’s the overwhelming humanity of Steven Spielberg, the intricate storytelling of Francis Ford Coppola, the rich humor of Mel Brooks or the striking realism of Martin Scorsese, each began the journey of their tremendous creative visions through short films.
