About Us

The result is many evocative and beautifully shot films with a sense of light and form that digital is still catching up with. Many of the finalists'' films were made in black-and-white, including the opening film, Kevin Everson and Corey D. B. Walker''s "Fifeville." Kevin Everson, who teaches 16mm black-and-white cinematography in the University of Virginia''s Art Department, has created a local film renaissance all on his own. In addition to his legendary teaching, he involved his advanced students with the making of "Fifeville," a portrait of a Charlottesville neighborhood in transition.
