About Us
MISSION STATEMENT
The aim of the New York Aids Film Festival is to showcase work that educates and awakens people to the reality of the HIV/AIDS virus through shot form, documentary and feature films.
The festival in a fundraising effort for African Action on AIDS. 70% of the festival proceeds will go to the charity. In 1990 African Action on Aids (AAA) was created by a group of forward thinking African women, several of whom worked at the United Nations. It was created out of a spirit of solidarity with the large number of children orphaned a result of the disease, and the strong belief that “NO ONE IS ALONE.” The aim is to provide financial and technical assistance, and to effect change through local organizations providing support to AIDS orphans.
