About Us

Quality is a subject of paramount importance. And at Benchmark, we are very quality conscious. Few products have ever come back for repair. But we don't want any! We make a study of the items returned and apply statistical analysis, à la Deming, to correct any problems as quickly as possible.

A 1991 Pareto analysis indicated our largest problem was failed ICs. We built a burn-in oven to stress the ICs and catch the infant mortality. Next we changed vendors for a gain control potentiometer. And so on. The smallest problem was a few defective hand solder joints. Most of our product is assembled with a wave solder system, providing virtually flawless quality. But what about the few hand soldered joints? We instituted a new proprietary process which all but eliminated variation in hand solder quality. Every solder joint is now of military quality.
