About Us

The Kudzu Film Festival is quickly becoming the Southeast''s premiere showcase for ''Independent'' film & video. Kudzu is a week long festival held in Athens, Georgia during the month of October with three nights of Competitive Screenings including features and shorts of all genres. In addition to nightly screenings, The Kudzu Film Festival presents morning coffee sessions, afternoon guest speakers & special ''out-of-competition'' screenings throughout the week, as well as late night parties at numerous venues around the quaint atmosphere of Athens'' downtown.

Now entering it''s fourth year, The Kudzu Film Festival spotlights six feature films and eighteen to twenty-five shorts selected from over two hundred entries, over the three days of competition. The 2000 Kudzu Film Festival awarded over $14,000 in cash and post-production services, and past films selected for competition have been offered airings on The Independent Film Channel and Turner South Network.
