About Lemmon
Lemmon, SD, home of the original "Boss Cowman," Ed Lemmon, is located in the Grand River and Cedar River National Grasslands amid gently rolling hills, buttes and coulees. A place where you can see forever or think you can, and where the surrounding countryside is as it was over a 100 years ago when great herds of buffalo and native peoples roamed this land. This is the Great Plains, the prairie. This country was visited by early day trappers and explorers including Hugh Glass, Jim Bridger and General George Armstrong Custer. This is country where the tracks of the Bismarck to Deadwood Trail can still be seen in the swaying grass, where sunrises and sunsets take your breath away.

Sunrise in the center of Lemmon over the Petrified Wood Park is a sight you won''t soon forget. Tall man-made towers of ancient stone stand like a testament to men and women who created a castle-like world in the vastness of wild prairie, a silent mystery in time.
