Blatantly Subtle Productions

About Us

Blatantly Subtle is a group of filmmakers looking for collaborators.

Shooting cheaply on DV around New York City, but insisting on strong material, our ambition is to help connect the many talented and underused resources of New York -- its actors, its artists, its writers, its musicians -- in the projects and events we plan.

Blatantly Subtle is a collective, a support group, and somewhat a production company. But what it is most, is an attempt to set the scene for filmmaking that needs to be done. Founded by a group of independent-minded filmmakers coming out of NYU, for the last two years Blatantly Subtle has been making the movies and developing the projects it has wanted to make. And with a sense of humor and a sense of purpose we have been holding screenings and events displaying the results.

A new Blatantly Subtle SCREENING of original material is scheduled for the weekend of November 23. Please come out and check out our work for yourself. Check out our website for
