*** What makes the Compact Zoom CZ.2 Lenses a better product to purchase compared to others in the market?**
Their compact size and light weight make them the ideal companions for even the most ambitious applications, including handheld, and projects in confined spaces. And thanks to their robust, cine-style housing their full-frame coverage and interchangeable mounts; they are very safe investment not only for rental houses but also the owner operator. In additional to this, the ZEISS compact zoom lenses have virtually no zoom shift. No zoom shift means that your target subject stays in focus while you are zooming.

- Does Carl Zeiss have any other new product announcements or news up ahead they can share with our readers?**
At NAB we showed a concept studio of a servo unit for our Compact Zoom lenses. The standard control the servo unit offers is for zoom and iris. In addition to this, there is an optional focus control. Price and availability of this product are not finalized, yet.
**
- Can you share some of the main features the lens has, that made it one of the most talked about products at NAB and landed it on ProHUB’s Awards of Excellence list?**
Due to the bigger image circle the Compact Zoom CZ.2 15-30 has no distortion or vignetting in the corners on Super 35 sensors (Sweet Spot Effect). Due to the full frame coverage, all members of the Compact Zoom lens family cover the RED Dragon senor at 6K. There is no other competitor cine-style lens that can do the same at this point.
**
- What were these lenses specifically made for?**
The size and weight of the Compact Zoom CZ.2 make the lens perfect. All zoom lenses are color matched not just to each other; they fit perfectly to all ZEISS prime lenses. The zoom lenses are ideal for top-quality movies, feature films productions and documentaries. With their outstanding color matching, typical for ZEISS, they make an optimal addition to the Master Prime, Ultra Prime and Compact Prime.
**
- What do you feel sets Carl Zeiss Lenses apart from its competitors?**
Definitely our interchangeable mount system. This system actually allows the user to change the mount between 5 different versions: PL, Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, and Micro-Four-Thirds. There is no need to send the lens to a service station to exchange the mount. This can be safely done when prepping the lenses for a shoot by the user.
