Revolution Productions: Creating Video Marketing for Clients Around the World

LexisNexis is the world’s largest and most comprehensive electronic database for legal and public-record related information. An estimated 60,000 organisations within the UK currently use its services. So when Revolution Productions realized their client, LexisNexis needed video to strengthen their marketing strategy, they went straight to work doing just that.

**Q: Why and when did your client, LexisNexis realize they needed video as part of their marketing strategy? **

A: LexisNexis is often seen as a traditional organisation with conventional marketing methods and strategies. The company was facing increasing pressure to stay relevant within the industry and began searching for new and innovative ways that would allow it to communicate with its customers and employees.

As web video begins to move to the forefront of online marketing, LexisNexis chose to adopt this strategy to market its products and service to customers whilst also communicating with its employees.

Q: Tell us a little about the project - what problem were they trying to solve and what was the result / success story?

A: LexisNexis found that it was struggling to communicate both internally and externally. Many people found that the information on the website was confusing and they didn’t understand the brand. The company understood the importance of conveying their message to customers and were eager to explore a number of avenues in order to communicate their messages.

With the help of Revolution Productions, the leading provider of creative marketing videos, LexisNexis commissioned five web videos to use on the company’s website. Using whiteboard animation, the videos were able to compact complicated messages whilst engaging its audience.

LexisNexis found that as a result of using the videos, its employees were better in sync and customers were more informed, updated and had a better understanding of LexisNexis as a brand.

Julian Morgan, Head of Drafting Applications at LexisNexis said, Internal communication is a challenging area for any communications professional as workers are focussed on their own roles and rarely have time for company newsletters and internal communications.  Our two internal videos have been warmly received as a new and innovative way of engaging and communicating with internal team members.

Anish Patel, Head Producer at Revolution Productions comments, LexisNexis was a particularly interesting example of where on-line video can help clearly articulate a series of complex messages.

Patel continues, We are delighted the results have added real value to the business in terms of employee communication and engagement and have helped with the promotion of new training services.

Q: What trends in video production do you see for this year and next?

A: Web video will soon earn the role as most watched form of advertising. In 2013, expect video ad consumption to reach 12 billion per month on social platforms such as YouTube.

Anish Patel of Revolution Productions believes one trend this year will be that online retailers will begin to use video advertisement more dominantly to promote their products.

Patel says, We can expect to see more retailers sharing their TV advertising online through social media or simply engaging customers with their brand. Social media platforms are garnering more traction these days, so we can look forward to seeing much more TV online.
